 | SMCWBR14-3GN + HUAWEI E156G optimal config? The 3G only started to work after installing the latest firmware on the router, smcmr3306a-1.0.1.10.ba.
I'm getting very strange and irregular behavior: speed for one single download can be as good as when the Huawei is plugged directly into the computer, but connecting through the router to a website with lots of tiny bits and pieces like Gmail is very shaky and I have to reload the page endlessly to get it to work.
I've been fiddling with the parameters in the control panel Network Settings-->3G: 3G MTU defaults to 1500 (tried lower values, no effect) 3G MRU defaults to 1500 (tried lower values, no effect) Download Packet Buffer defaults to 8192 (setting it to 4096 seems better, but even lower values seem to be worse) Upload Packet Buffer defaults to 2048 (haven't changed it)
Does anyone have an idea of how to improve connection stability with this hardware combination?
