[VOIPo.COM] Additional ports to forward fpr Voipo

Sorry if this already known but was news for me! Started to have some one way audio issues and when I contacted support they told me that they have added some additional ports that need to be forwarded

My current set up for port forwarding after speaking with tech is

UDP 5004-65000 pointed to 192.168.1.99
TCP 5078-5079 pointed to 192.168.1.99

I'm confused ... nothing new.

I'm seeing a range of answers for VOIPo port forwarding.

The above:
UDP 5004-65000
TCP 5078-5079

VOIPo support's response to my parent's VOIPo "ring back" issue last month:
5000-65000 TCP/UDP

In another VOIPo one way audio thread:
5060-5080 (TCP)
5004-65000 (UDP)

"Everybody" seems to agree on UDP (except VOIPo starts at 5000 vs. 5004), but "nobody" agrees on TCP.

Is VOIPo support's TCP recommendation (5000-65000) a typo? Did they really mean 5060-5080? Or something else? Or is this device / account / registered server dependent?

BTW, the PAP2 shows port 5061 for line #1 & 5062 for line #2 under Features / Devices in vPanel.

Our standard support response is 5004-65000 UDP. This is the range used for UDP by our vendors and the SIP ports fall within this.

We do not use the TCP protocol except for remote access. If you were told to forward the entire range for TCP by one of our reps, that's not correct. It was likely a new employee that hadn't fully memorized the range and if you have ticket numbers I can make sure they are clear on the valid range.

Thanks Tim ... I PM'ed you the ticket #.

BTW, it was 2 months ago, not last month. Time flies when ...
