Since the Beach and Out Door season is coming upon us I thought it would be a nice change to have the Dudes and Dudettes express themselves with a touch of what summer means to them. Post your images and or Artifies even take advantages of others postings to apply your personal touches to. But as per usual just have fun and enjoy.
We used to go to Keansburg Amusement Park often when I was a kid, it was about a half hour from our home. I can vaguely remember seeing this excursion boat once when I was a really little kid. It used to run from NYC to Keansburg, but the dock was mostly destroyed by Hurricane Donna in 1960. Just as the large inland amusement parks were built at the end of trolley lines to encourage development there, the excursion boats and the Keansburg boardwalk were used to encourage people to buy property in that area.

Keansburg is one of those NJ shore towns that has managed to retain its "boardwalk", though the walkway is asphalt/cement now. Some of the kiddie rides are still the same ones I rode as a child, and probably my parents rode the same ones when they were kids. Very retro-looking now - lol. When I was a kid, the first couple of city blocks adjacent to the boardwalk had stands with games on chance, but those no longer exist. They always had the best french fries there, and we spent many an hour in the arcades, playing the claw machines and skee ball.
