·EPB Fiber Optics
1 edit | EPB For the person who mentioned earlier, there are no monthly caps. I'm an online gamer so I'm more than happy to pay a little more for much better upload. We also watch a lot of Netflix on multiple TVs, so no monthly cap (for now at least) to worry about is the main reason I switched. I'm glad to have the choice between FTTH, Cable, DSL and wireless. It's nice to know you have alternatives.
The really high-speed plans like 50/50, 100/100 and soon 150/150 are really not aimed at the average person. These are in place for businesses and people who really don't care the price so long as they are faster than everybody else. When Comcast increases their speed I expect EPB to do the same to stay one step ahead. EPB doesn't require a contract so I expect them to do all they can to keep people paying month to month.

| Re: EPB Hey furthermore, I think perhaps people are saying "gosh 50/50 and 100/100 prices are so steeep ...." when they're comparting to 50/x on Comcast. Well, let's put it this way. 50/x on Comcast is more like 20/5, i.e., one tenth the upload speed. So, Comcast's should be about one tenth the price of EPB. Look at it that way. Furthermore, their download speed is not as shared as it used to be, but it is still shared enough that it may be half the speed of EPB's offering out the door. I don't have the real EPB numbers so I'm just making suppositions, but don't come to the conclusion right away that Comcast is cheaper. It might be. It might not be. | |

| When Comcast sees their customers moving, they'll run EPB in the ground in terms of speed and price. Remember they can just flip switches and push keys. THEY OWN their backbone EPB doesn't and has to buy more and more to keep up. Also i'm sure EPB pays way more than Comcast does for anything and WILL run them to the ground in a matter of months. -- www.twopugsbrand.com Kosher, Vegan, and Organic Certified Dog and Cat treats/foods and other products! | |
| | | | Re: EPB EPB will have no problem matching any small speed increase Comcast will give. You\'re greatly overestimating what they pay for bandwidth. Comcast isn\'t a local company and usually does speed increases nationwide. They\'re highly unlikely to raise speed based on one area of one state. It\'s odd to me to see some people wanting a huge cable company to destroy a local owned provider. We always complain about monopolies but then turn around and change our mind when the time comes to make a choice. I see people from different states championing Comcast and for what? What good can possibly come from a locally owned provider going under? | |

You love cable, we get it. People on the EPB 15/15 package are getting ~19/15 so bandwidth is clearly not an issue. Judging by your post history you have a serious problem with FTTH in general. I'll be back here in "a matter of months" on the same EPB Fiber connection to show just how wrong your prediction is.
| | | | We can only hope epb will be as just and kind as Time Warner Cable. | |
