[Excel] Subdividing a cell

Not sure how this can be done. Someone wants to take a cell let's say that that's for a work week. Subdivide that into let's say 5-7 cells. So at the top you have the one cell showing the weeks date range i.e. 6-14 to -6-18 and under that it's split in 5 or 7.

I think what you would have to do is "merge" the 5-7 cells for the week heading. Because Excel uses unique identifiers for each cell (a1, b4, etc...), you can't really "split" a cell. Merging the heading cells should give the desired look though, One big cell one top with 5-7 individual cells underneath it.

Yep, that's the way to do it very simple and straightforward.
