SMC WBR14 G2 many times connection lost since Windows 7 ?

Hello,

Anybody any ideas why my router looses connection sometimes (sometimes spontaneously, sometimes - what I figured out so far - when an secure connection is made like with a website from a bank and an ssl connection is made, and sometimes when we close Explorer)

It all started when I replaced WinXP with a copy off Windows 7.

So is the problem the router (SMCWBR14G2), the USB wireless LAN dongle, or Windows 7 (and probably driver issues?)

All the standard drivers are installed (windows auto-detect the wireless network).
When the computer is starting, everything is fine, connection is made automatically with my wireless network. No issues whatsoever.
But after a while, even when not doing anything, connection can be lost. Looking at the wireless icon it just shows a cross, and looking for available networks it doesn't find mine anymore.
Even with my laptop and another laptop that still has XP the network is out of the air.
Looking at the router itself, because I cannot look inside the menu, I see 1 light gone out.
Normally you should see 3 lights burning: power, wlan and wan.
After this connection loss, the WLAN light is out.

Only thing I can do is turn power off for 2 seconds on the router so it restart. Then looking at the log inside the router when connection automatically has been established again, I can find nothing which indicates problems.
No attacks from outside or whatsoever.

What could be the problem???
Is it perhaps because it's a cheap little router, that is not fully compatible with either Windows 7 and/or the USB dongle: Linksys WUSB54GC or our anti-virussoftware: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 ?

Thanx in advance for any help posted!
