| [Android] No Android 2.2 for Hero and Moment... Oh well, the 2.1 update is nice on my Moment, I'm happy with it but was kinda hoping to get 2.2 eventually.
From Sprint's Twitter:
"HTC EVO will be updated to Android 2.2; Samsung Moment & HTC Hero will not. Future devices launching w/ 2.1 will be also be updated to 2.2."

| With rebates and such I don't know that Sprint makes that much on hardware.
My guess is that Samsung isn't wanting to support it.
It does have 2.1 though, which is nice, and there wasn't even a guarantee that it'd get the 2.1 update. (it came with 1.5)
I'd say it's similar to getting a computer with XP and not being able to upgrade it to Windows 7 for whatever reason.
Sometimes you have to upgrade the hardware.

| I'm pretty active on some of the Android forums too, once I see that it's been out a while and a LOT of people are successfully upgrading to 2.2 without issues, then I'll probably root and upgrade manually.
I could have done the same to get 2.1 early, but waited for Sprint's "official" go ahead to do it. I just didn't want to take a chance at this point on bricking it.

| No real danger if you follow the steps and do everything right.
The hero and moment might not get upgraded because 2.2 froyo os supports flash in the browser which requires a higher processor.
