| Is Ubuntu Forums down? I was in ubuntuforums.org early this morning, but for the past 4 hours or so I can only get stale pages. This is occurring on both Win XP and Ubuntu and from all browsers I have tried (FF, Opera, Chrome, and MSIE). The main page of the Forum tells me that I am the only user logged in.
Would someone please look at the site and let me know if they are getting current content? Thanks.

garywk join:2001-03-06 Clarkston, WA | reply to timcuth I took a look at the Ubuntu forum. I don't run Ubuntu so I don't have an account there, but I couldn't find a post less than 9 hours old. In fact, almost all the different forums said the last post in each forum was 9 hours old. The ones that didn't report that time reported times consistent with rarely used forums, as in days or weeks old.
That 9 hour timing is too consistent to be normal forum behavior. |

| reply to timcuth When I checked it about 8 a.m. CDT this morning, the users list showed that I was the ONLY person connected; normally there are several thousand at least. I also noticed that almost every thread's last message was repeated from 3 to 5 times. I concluded that the gremlins were at work, disconnected, and have not been back to check it out since.
I don't log out; I just stay logged in and may access it from any of my LAN boxes since all go through the same WAN IP...
I just checked back in and it seems to be working, but it claims that I last visited 45 minutes ago. The active users list was back to normal, with 13,476 on line at the moment. Perhaps they got it fixed. -- Jim Kyle |

 | We have always been a little crazy. System issues simple add additional entropy. |

All seems to have returned to normal soon thereafter. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Ubuntu MOTU Developer and Forums Council |
