My dsl light on my modem doesn't stay solid anymore any ideas? , so I called gwi went through a few tech supports things to try didn't really do anything for me, said they could send a new modem out but I probably wont get the modem till next week, so I'm without internet for at least four days, I just wanted to make a suggestion that they should overnight equipment to people. |

 | I'm actually having similar problems, on 3 seperate lines, two residential and 1 commercial, with 3 different DSL modems, I'm currently waiting for the lvl 2 tech to come in so I can call back.
When i spoke to someone yesterday he blamed my modem, Saying that those modems are very old and can take 15-20 minutes to sync (it's a speedstream 4200) I reset it, left it for 45 minutes and did finally get sync back, but it lasted a couple hours before it was dead again.
We have not even begun troubleshooting the commercial line yet.
If i find out anything while i'm on with them try and let you know

 | Update. I just got off the phone with GWI Commercial support, There is aparently a bad card at the CO here in town, They are going to try and remotely fix it, if that does not work they'll be driving down with a new card and it should be back up in a few hours.
The tech is going to call me back when they know if it's something they can fix remotely or if the card needs to be replaced, and i'll update when I know more. |
