Re: RoadRunner i didn't say you were paying a rental fee for a modem. i said TWC could charge that to give you a router/modem combo instead they give you a modem FREE to use and give the option to "rent" a router from them OR you can buy one you want and it will all work the same. You DO NOT have to program anything for Linux as you claim with RoadRunner, unless you want your system to do something that it does not normally do. RoadRunner does Mac based sign on and that is using the MAC address of the modem and nothing else. Once that is in the system nothing else needs to be programmed. It is the true "always on" unlike DSL where it requires PPPoE.
You contract "pays" for the modem/router that the telco gave you. Hence why the routers/modems are usually cheap with them.
and you can claim all you want about the port/socket. on a router or modem their a PORT an a connection in the house---IE the electric outlet is a SOCKET. -- www.twopugsbrand.com Kosher, Vegan, and Organic Certified Dog and Cat treats/foods and other products! www.etsy.com/shop/snakx4u/ Organic, Kosher, Gluten Free, Vegan Human Baked Goods |
