 | reply to lawrence171 Because FibeTV is fricken awesome, and is $5 less than what I was paying for Fibe12 plus satellite. My satellite had 4 theme packs. For $5 less I get:
- 25Mbps internet with 4Mbps up when no TVs are on for the price of Fibe6 - 7 Theme packs vs 4, ALL with the HD equivalents, so sign up for A&E or Discovery and you now get the HD versions free. - Home PVR vs just a PVR in the living room - Much better experience overall, faster channel changing, better guide, more selection plus it's cool! |

Re: [ TV] FibeTV is a complete joke! Hey everyone just an update from earlier. It's been 24 hours since install, just got home from work. Channels change faster now for some reason and the little preview PIP window when viewing other programs is instant now too, so faster than yesterday and more like the Bell website.
One neat thing too just for fun I plugged the PVR into my Apple Airport using ethernet. The airport is connected to the Bell modem, TV worked the same as well so looks like it does work through switches and routers.
On a side note, does anyone know how to pause TV on the PVR and resume somewhere else? I hit pause, go upstairs turn the TV on and its just on whatever channel the receiver upstairs was left on. Tried pausing and turning off the receiver but same thing? |

1 edit | Start recording the show on the first TV, then go upstairs, see your "recordings" pick the one you started downstairs and continue watching it that way. Did I misunderstand or does that help? -- My Canada includes Quebec. Disclaimer: If I express an opinion, it is my own opinion, not that of Bell or its related companies. |

 | reply to edokid That's how you would do it on a non PVR. You're supposed to be able to just press pause on the PVR then go upstairs and when you turn that TV on it's supposed to be sitting there at the exact spot you paused it. Like on the video here »fibetv.bell.ca/en/features/pvr/ . |

| reply to edokid Cool man, that sounds like a great feature...let me know if you get the answer you are looking for. The help desk is 24X7, give them a call. They actually just called me asking me how it was working..I asked them about OLN HD and they told me they don't have an agreement...yet. -- My Canada includes Quebec. | Maybe I'll call them later, not really urgent enough for me to, not a huge deal. There must be something on the receiver upstairs you have to do. Otherwise if I paused TV downstairs and someone was watching it upstairs it would show my show to them. On the Microsoft site for Mediaroom it says to tune the other receiver to the DVR channel to resume, but can't seem to find one. |

 | reply to edokid I can relate to the issues in getting FibeTV installed, it took me two hours on the phone with different departments at Bell to get the order placed initially, and when I called to confirm the install, the order was deleted. I had to go through the entire process again, which took another two hours. The guys did finally show up this week and install everything, and it is freaking gorgeous, hands down the best tv service in teh city.
That being said, for everyone having trouble, ask to speak to the "Retention Department". Inform them that you were calling to change your tv over to FibeTV, but with how screwed up the Bell system is, and how many hours you've wasted on the phone with them, that you are going to take advantage of the deal that Rogers is offering and switch over to them.
They gave me a one-time $20.00 credit, dropped my internet cost by $10.00 a month, and dropped my phone cost by $20.00 a month, and gave me free install ($259 credit), and the free PVR for a year. Even with just the monthly discounts, that basically pays for my iptv! |
|
 | You're so lucky you got free install, I should have tried that. Everyone I spoke with told me too bad they can't waive it, you can see my whole experience on here. I had to pay $59 for my install |

 | reply to edokid I'm interested in this. I'm thinking changing everything over to bell from Cogeco. Wonder if it's available in my area. i'm in st.catharines. niagara area. anone have it in niagara area? so to my understanding you have a lower internet, what about bandwidth per month, isn't that a low cap?? |

| I have to tell you that FibeTV is only available in limited areas of Toronto and Montreal at this time. My area got it and of course I signed on...hopefully it will come there soon. I understand St. Catharines is getting more hardware in the "field" now so it will only be a matter of time. This new service is even better than I thought it would be. -- My Canada includes Quebec.
