 | reply to Subaru Ranks go up to 50.. and I think there are scripts somewhere on the web (haven't had the need to look) that allow someone to bypass the idle kick. Idling is pathetic because it screws up the team balance and ruins the game - I usually find another server in that case. |

Is this due to summer and less players being around or something else? Have you UPDATED to the latest patch (Run the BC2updater.exe file in the BC2 directory -- right click it and "Run as Admin")?
I didn't do that a few patches ago and was scratching my head when the servers dropped from thousands to hundreds, lol. |

ironweasel -- awesome spreadsheets.....yeah you must have been bored, looks like a good amount of work. How long that take?
Thanks, star-d those in Google docs. |

Yeah it was posted on the EA PC forums for BC2, that if you search the Server Browser for "SPECACT" you will find a server that is running those weapons. |

Lately for me, my game just locks-up (picture freezes while I'm playing), and then after 30sec. it will either continue or just kick me out to the main menu.
All my issues appear to be display driver related.
That's what I would focus on first. You may want to actually roll back to older video drivers.
Also, check the BC2 EA PC forums and search around for issues with GTX 470 drivers, you may find some good tips. |

How long that take? Thanks, star-d those in Google docs. Took about an hour and a half for both. Most of that was just inputting the weapon names and figuring out the formulas needed to do what I wanted to do.
My main motivation was getting my ass handed to me by quite a few people using the XM8 Prototype.....couldn't understand why I was getting killed so fast. Also, I was curious to see how much of an effect Magnum Ammo actually had.
Magnum Ammo has a 1.25 damage multiplier, so it adds 25% more damage. Sounds like a lot until you look at the actual numbers and realize that (in normal mode at least) every single gun takes 1 less bullet to the body to kill someone. When you add headshots to the equation, depending on the gun, it takes either the same amount of bullets or 1 less to kill someone. The STG.77 Aug, for example, takes 3 shots to the head to kill with or without magnum ammo. It also needs 6 body shots without magnum, 5 body shots with magnum.
Personally, I've started running around with the Red Dot sight and Ceramic Armor on any gun that can be so equipped. With the MG36, I'll go with the Ammo Upgrade and Ceramic Armor since it has the Red Dot sight by default. As Engineer, I'll go with the Red Dot and Explosive+. Kinda funny to think that the starting weapon for the Engineer kit (the 9A-91) is just as powerful as the AN-94 at close to medium range. -- Off the hillbilly hook - Off the redneck chain. Kinda funny to think that the starting weapon for the Engineer kit (the 9A-91) is just as powerful as the AN-94 at close to medium range. Yeah, there really are some great weapon combinations. I noticed the same thing about the 9A-91, and the SCAR-L also does the same 20 damage close. I really like the iron sites on the SCAR-L, I usually just go with that when I equip it. The 9A-91 is ok with the sites, but I usually prefer a red dot or ACOG.
Recently I played with the M249 SAW (LMG) as a Medic....first I tried the iron sites, not terrible, but not great, then the Red Dot, not too bad, but then I put on the ACOG and really liked it. I did really well with that set-up. The M249 has a really high ROF, so if you can get your shots on target it will usually take down an enemy before they get you.
The AN-94 is awesome, I try to use the M416 and the M16, but they are not as good now, so I keep coming back to the AN-94 (I threw on the 40mm SHOTGUN attachment last night because I had only a few kills with it, I got probably like 10 more....really fun to switch to it at close range and *blast* someone). Honestly I like all the Assault rifles, so I mix them up when I can.
I also just used the MG36 and the MG3 in a few game so that I could get my gold stars. I took them from around 20 kills each, to over 100 each in a few hours. Good guns if you use them right.
Now I am going to get gold stars with the remaining weapons I am missing.....a few of the Sniper rifles, the M1, the Thompson, the G3, and all the Shotguns.
Hey if you are interested, I have made some gameplay videos of BC2. Some with music tracks & others with commentary. Just search YouTube for my username 'Vamp9190' I use the same one for BC2 too.

I also have another soldier I use just for screwing around..... Snipa D00D (the 0's in D00D are zeros). The whole point of that is to use nothing but the Recon kit.
Shotguns are fun....got my first platinum star with the NS2000. It's my favorite gun by far, even though all the pump action shotguns are identical except for the model, I prefer the NS2000 over the rest. Slugs + Ceramic Armor are an excellent combination assuming you can aim quickly and accurately. -- Off the hillbilly hook - Off the redneck chain. Join the rebel revolution - It's a runaway train. |

Plus that made it even harder to gain levels because you couldn't get points for supplying Ammo, Reviving teammates, etc.
I guess EA / DICE also noticed that it was retarded to have those items locked at the start. |
