Was doing a ranked earlier.. 4 successful "Run up and smack you in the face because you're an idiot" Udyr ganks later (by ~8 minutes) mid Nid still pushing like crazy with only traps around. Oh and let's not forget the "Getting my ass kicked... better go tear+chalice!" item build... |

Good games last night.
I AM SO BAD AT MELEE ARAM! Its so much easier to play caster/ad in that genre but maybe that stems from me not playing that much melee in SR. Shen being an exception because its so easy. Build health taunt shit w/ shield GG.
Xioden sry for missing the Shen Ults on the Karthus I think that would have been better but the Olaf at 10% health is pretty nasty alternative. -- I eat rappers with the rhyme. Consume 'em. The only fucking thing you consume is time. I'm superhuman. |

 | Who die a rapid gruesome death...
I hate getting melee unless they are being built as tank.
Also doesn't help that I don't know what I am doing. |

I think that in ARAM I may just start doing 0/30/0 and tank runes on every melee. 0/30/0 is really tanky early on.
Start giants belt and just attempt to wreck some havoc and not die. Works great on Shen but thats his normal build path. On someone like Shyv I feel like I'm going to end up with a paper cutter for dmg. -- I eat rappers with the rhyme. Consume 'em. The only fucking thing you consume is time. I'm superhuman. |

KrisnatharokCaveat EmptorPremium join:2009-02-11 Earth Orbit kudos:10 | I had a great time super early game as Urgot when they ignored me and i got to stand in the middle and just wreck their back lane. One triple kill later and I was their focus target.
I did ok as Draven by skipping any sort of mana regen, but I still think that Tear, Chalice, or Philo are all almost required to get through the first six levels if your champ has mana. -- Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. |

If I have mana I am just attempting to transfer mana to damage effectively. Generally if I am playing caster Chalice or Tear is a good start but on AD I'll just run OOM right before the healths pop and pick one up so I have a combo for the next engage.
I run mp5 blues on my adcs though. -- I eat rappers with the rhyme. Consume 'em. The only fucking thing you consume is time. I'm superhuman. |

I run mp5 blues on my adcs though. Mana wise the only ADC that really have issues with it are Urgot, Corki, and if you constantly forget to turn off frost shot, Ashe. Everyone else for the most part has low costs abilities that normal regen will cover. A lot of it just comes down to saving abilities for better uses. Graves for example, waiting for an opportunity to hit with all 3 buckshot projectiles is much more effective than hitting with 1 projectile on 3 different casts.
The MR from MR/Level glyphs (or flat MR if against some AP heavy) is pretty huge. At 18 it's about a 15% extra magic damage reduction, which is pretty big when it means the difference between being burst down in 2-3 spells vs 3-4 spells.
Mana regen glyphs are about ~175g equivilent, MR/Level are about ~425g equivilent, Flat MR are about ~300g equivilent. |
|
 | My favorite ADCs can effectively change mana into DMG. Graves, Twitch, Ez, and Sivir all can win lane with spell spam.
Ez being the hardest because q is little. But at the end of the day I pick my runes / masteries for the first 20 min of the game and I'd rather have the mana. I typically will get MR only if they have a burst caster so I don't get 100%'d.

XiodenPremium join:2008-06-10 Monticello, NY kudos:1 | The MR is also not just for protection against burst casters. In a teamfight Tanks are not generally the biggest damage dealer, but when you only have ~1.8k health and low armor/MR, even tanks can wear you down quite quickly. When that Shen/Zac/Sejuani/Nasus/Amumu/etc. are on top of you with their sunfire capes and auras ticking away on you on top of many of their other abilities doing magic damage as well, an additional ~15% resist provides a lot more time to deal with them.
But secondary runes should almost never be used. You give up too much in stats for little return. There are some odd exceptions to this, melee supports spring to mind in that they generally don't benefit from AD, armor pen, attack speed, or magic pen. Having extra defensive stats instead in those cases can be beneficial for early trading. |
|
Noiche join:2013-06-17 Panama City, FL | Prime example is Taric, who, if built right, can have tons of magic damage and actually be an effective damage dealer. This is almost never used cause of the profound strength of his support role. Being a melee support, and probably the tankiest of all supports, he is expected not only to support his team, but also almost always expected to initiate and tank/be in the middle of the fight.
I build super defensive items on him that also provide support/AP and, if the game goes on too long, I basically become unkillable to any 2-3 attacking party.
Point is, the defensive runes/masteries, in my opinion, give more bang for your buck than the AD/AP does in more than half of the scenarios you look at.
Range is the exception to this! |

I primarily run tanks in the jungle, although the occassional Garen/Panth can be fun. My favorite is Rammus jungle though. |
