Sorry to ask a really boring question but as both of these routers are now kind of old I'm struggling to find my answers.
In a nutshell I want to install Tomato and I'm wondering which of these would be best for that. I heard somewhere that the G54S (or G125?) has a slightly faster processor but the HP-G54 has the MIMO stuff which someone I asked seemed to think was a feature of wireless N which doesn't make a lot of sense.
I'm just after a cheap router for now to have a go with Tomato and I'm going to upgrade to something more permanent with wireless N in the future, hopefully with Tomato if it's in good support by then. I can get both these two routers cheap, otherwise I'd be looking at a WRT54G of some kind probably.
The G54S and G125 are different models, and the G125 has the faster processor. The WHR-HP-G54 is the one to get if the price is right. It is not MIMO but it has amplifiers built in that give much better range. Tomato runs on all of these models.
