SAS Core Service?

Click for full size
I use SAS as a on demand scanner. It is not set to start up either when windows starts. So why does this service remain running? Is it safe to disable? I am using SAS 64 bit free version.

It's safe to set to manual if you are using the free version.

From my experiences with SAS 64-bit, the SAS Core service is required for right-click scanning. If you don't need right-click on-demand scanning, go ahead and set the service to Manual.

There's also an option to un-check the box that allows it to start with Windows.

This gets rechecked on every new version install........for some reason.
