Re: Cable amplifier split to 16 TVs

He hasnt said but i suspect he doesnt actually have 16 tvs. My experience with these so called smart boxes are horrible. People usually have 3 or 4 tvs and they have 16 jacks installed. The boxes are nice but they use cheap junk in them. Cable guys hate them as they are nothing but problems. And after the homeowner payed a fortune as a upgrade they have to be all torn down. Junk is probably being to nice describing them. i usually go with comtech4s way. But i have some variations depending on what the sub is actually getting and using.

I hate doing installs when the electrician or low volt company that did the wiring is still there. After I explain to the customer / show the customer what's wrong - they have to watch me rip all their crap out, cut off all their fittings they struggled to shove on the improperly prepped cables, and remove their amp that's causing so much noise and distortion no pictures will come in. Then they have to watch me take off every faceplate and replace all those fittings.

Then the worst part, when the customer gets billed from comcast for all that work they already paid him for.

Funny you Mentioned this.

I did a triple new connect yesterday that consisted of crimp fittings showcasing a 1/2" center conductor and 1" braid out the back.

I burned through three bags of 6 fittings.

See, except for the last part i'd love it.

"Now cocky... sit down and watch how you @#$@ing! do it right" And, i will trust that you or your company will be paying for the customers $49.99 Tech visit due to the fact you, being an electrician, who said you could do this failed horribly causing more problems for me, and for your client.

I mean really... i know electricans usually deal with line voltage or higher, and know that coax is not usually dangerous... but think of it this way... would you leave a 240v feed with a connector barely on?

AHHHHHH!
