TMO could get what they need from Sprint. One sprint has their 4g network being built NOW. TMO doesn't and is still playing with their 3g network. Sprint has customers and management to take them into the next place. But TMO has the knowledge on what to do and can do it. They both have low prices, Sprint is banking on the prepaid market on the Boost and Virgin Mobile sides...and TMO is moving to no-contract as well.

This would be a great solution for both of them. Sprint would just need to sell off the iDEN network or spin off Boost and that network together to their own company. and absorb Virgin into TMO along with the Sprint customers. It would be possible if they started with the 4g network.
