NYC may already be online!

My friend who owns an EVO called Sprint the other to to complain about the extra $10 charge for a service that he really doesn't have access to in Manhattan. He was told by the Sprint rep to hang in there a couple of extra days, and if he didn't see change in his service quality they'd gladly remove it and give him credit.

Well 3 days later, he was getting 4g service. He says that it's so fast that it smokes everything else he's tried. The service is fast.

So although NYC may have not been announced, it appears that the service may be on.

That's good for him, but sadly they also lied. No way they'd have removed and credited him the $10 they charge on 4G phones. Just ask everyone else that has an EVO in an area with no 4G. :l

they can credit the $10 per month, but only 1 department can do that. That is Retentions. They have the power to do pretty much anything for a customer and is one of the most useful departments in Sprint.

I can confirm that I'm seeing almost-continuous 4G from South Brooklyn all the way to the Bronx.

They told him to wait a few days, and so he did, and 4g was turned on around his way. Now he doesn't mind paying the extra 10 bucks a months since he's getting something in return now.
