 1 edit | Apple, AT&T cripple Facetime competitor Smells like Apple & AT&T may have had something to do with this. Fring would be a competitor to their iPhone 4 Facetime video call product. The question is which one (Fring or Skype) caved to the pressure and did the dirty deed. They are each accusing the other in their blogs. No matter who did it, Apple & AT&T come out winners again. And AT&T keeps video calling off of their 3G network since Facetime, for now, is WiFi only.
