Best 30 inch 2560x1600 Monitor?

I have the Samsung, and its starting to flicker. FML, its under warrenty but I am probably going to add another one while its being repaired. Dont want to get another Samsung if its going to be junk.

Anyone have any other brand? Good or back luck? HP/LG/NEC/Dell all make one. Price varies pretty drastic on them too.

How old is your 305t? I got mine in Jan '08 and haven't experienced any issues yet.

Just over a year old. I do use it 8-14hrs a day about 7 days a week.

I love it, but its starting to flicker and its covered under warrenty so no real big deal but I want to get a second anyway.

Anyone else?

Gbue, which Dell the ultra sharp or the regular 30. You have one?

Ultra-sharp, of course.

I don't have a 30" Dell US, it's on my wish list.

I currently only have a 20" Dell US, it's lasted over 5 years with zero problems. And the 30" US has a zero dead pixel guarantee.

Well, either their build quality dropped or you just have a defective monitor. As said i've had mine for over two years. It's been moved twice, both across town and across states, and is on just about as often as yours.

Anyway, I haven't used any other 30", but, past experience with Dell Ultrasharp monitors in general has been a good. NEC monitors are also quite nice. My boss has a 24" that cost him a pretty penny but looks nicer than 99% of the monitors i've seen.

Ya over all I used to love Samsung pretty much thought they were the end all be all. My GF has 2 24's, one went out, they sent a new one for replacement, it also has problems. I still stuck to them and bought the 30 inch. Been perfect till now. To add to that my 40 inch home Samsung TV is now acting up and its probably only 2 years old. Maybe ive got a bad run of them or something. I continue to buy them though, but the 305t is harder to find now and has less features than some of the others like the HP has 3 Dual DVI ports, which would be handy for my laptop running it off the main monitor at times.

The Dell looks nice as well.

The NEC seems more than id like to spend its almost 2x the price of the HP. The Dell is in range. I dunno. I have a regular Dell 24 i use as my second monitor and it works perfect but looks like crap lol. Its not a US though.

Hoping more people will chime in with experience with the other brands. HP has good reviews on New Egg.

At home I have a Dell 3007 HC. At work I've got a Dell 3007, a few Sammy 305T's, and an Apple 30" original.

The Dell 3007 HC is the nicest IMO.

BTW... should you choose to buy new 30" monitors (My dad has a 3008WFP and it's gorgeous) and I have 3 U2711's from Dell, if you have the knack, you can get the monitors for significantly less than what's on the dell pages...

I got my 3 U2711's for $800.00 new... not re-ferbs or anything.. but I had to dicker with the sales person..

I got my Dad's 30" for 1049... and again I had to dicker with em...

I did get my 3 U2711's and my Dad's 3008WFP from Dell Directly via phone... .... used 2 separate purchases...

Best of luck to you.. let us know how you do.

Dell 3007WFP HC hands down. Some labs at school use that monitor (connected to Macs) and it is just such a good monitor to use.

I wonder what sort of video card(s) will drive that resolution, it seems like a lot of pixels.

You need a dual-link DVI port. Almost all newer cards have at least one, most mid to high-end cards have two.

Sweet today it had lines in the display. I got it to come back by turning it off and on a few times. Getting closer to replacing it. Haha.

I was just about to recommend that one, after seeing Maximum PC's reviews on it.

As a matter of fact, I was looking to buy that one too, but it lacks inputs like HDMI...
