Google should do 1gbit+ FTTH deployments in Canada too! Just to prove to BellCa, Rogers & the rest of the schlub isps that it's well past time to put up or shut up about giving the customer more for less! |

The geography of the country makes laying infrastructure prohibitively expensive in relation to population density. You could possibly pull it off in a few of the major areas like GTA, GMA, GVA or southwestern Ontario.
With a larger landmass and 1/10th the population of our neighbours to the south, it's a tough sell for any company to come in and lay the needed infrastructure.
I'm going to run the numbers on teksavvy, and if I can ditch cable for netflix, that would just be amazing. Boxee/etc all fail due to regional content restrictions. |
