No

People already complain about AT&T's coverage, Apple isn't going to downgrade carriers. VZW would be the next likely.

If you look at it from a different angle, T-Mobile International collectively has over 150 million customers worldwide including its US subsidiary. Their brand is global and has a good widely known reputation. They already sell the iconic device in their other markets.

It's never been about who has the best coverage in your opinion. It's about who was able to negotiate the deal Apple wanted on their terms.

It's not about quality coverage either otherwise AT&T would never have gotten a taste of it.

T-Mobile covers most urban areas well and that happens to be where most people use their service. I said most not all.

When you include GSM roaming partners, T-Mobile USA's network covers nearly 296 million Americans.

In January, they covered nearly 208 million Americans with 3G coverage (compared to AT&Ts 230 million POPS covered at that time) and have since added more markets. The gap is getting narrower and T-Mobile is actually ahead of AT&T in HSPA + deployments meaning they have the fastest 3G wireless broadband network in the US. But that won't stop AT&T for milking an already outdated PC Mag article giving them props for fast 3G speeds.

I think for the average American T-Mobile is a decent choice. They have relatively cool hardware and affordable rate plans especially for family texters. True those in rural areas or in the fringes of their coverage areas won't agree but then again T-Mobile never claims to cater to them either.

An iPhone on T-Mobie's US network will give them a huge shot in the arm in terms of net adds and free cash flow. They are hungrier and more eager to land this hot handset than their largest US peer and more likely to deal on Apple's terms.

Something is stopping T-Mobile from gaining customer's compared to AT&T or VZW though. And people want more 3G than AT&T has to offer not less. A VZW iPhone w/ LTE would make great sense because there is the slow but adequate CDMA network to fall back to for 3G and faster 3.9G LTE launching.. Both AT&T and VZW have the advantage in many market's because of their cellular license holding's. By the end of this year AT&T's HSPA+ is supposed to cover 250 million american's and many more with 3G.

T-Mobile you still have MANY area's that are GPRS only and GPRS when you fall off 3G indoor's sometimes which to me is unacceptable.
