Re: More network staging photos said by TomS_:said by Rhaas:What AirSpan equipment are you deploying? I am looking at the Hipermax Micro for a 700mhz Deployment. Were using MicroMAX 3.65 TDD. edit: You might also like to look at the MicroMAX, it has a 700MHz version too, and will be MUCH cheaper than a HiperMAX. d only though... We looked at the MicroMax as well and may go that way. The biggest difference (for the 700mhz) was additional TX power (~5db IIRC) with the Hipermax Micro. |

First, an overview of one side of the rack.

A close up of the top half:

And then the bottom half:

And then the other side of the rack:

Yep theres a little bit of fibre involved in this project.
The two green cables are being used to test an MPLS VPN, which Ive also been using to develop some QoS policies.
The blue cable plugged into the switch in the 3rd picture goes to my desk where I am running a packet capture program (Wireshark) so I can analyse packets flowing through the network, namely to look at the Exp bits in MPLS labels, and DSCP bits in IP packets to ensure that my QoS policies are marking packets as expected. |

It incorporates an upgrade to an existing network, with a new build attached. |

I just purchased a pair of 3745 and 3725 routers to perform some edge network services... great pieces of hardware! |

Enabling QoS and flooding an E3 in one direction really hurts the 2811's, but the 3745's have heaps of room to spare.
Then again, 3825/3845's would have also been nice, but the budget didnt agree. |

Yep 2811's are pretty weak . With services, we are lucky to route 20mbit of throughput. We have actually now replaced 2 2811's with 1811's because they are faster, and used 2 more 1811 in new locations. Given since you need the NM slots a 1811 wouldnt be a fit for you. |

Next time Im just going to argue for a bigger budget. |
