Re: TCASE?

got "Real Temps" and used a stress tester 'Prime 95' answered all my questions. TJmax is the real # to watch out for apparently and my peak of 85C is plenty below that which is around 95-100

Download CPU-Z and it should tell you your current CPU speed.
It does, but it's still clocking it self down, I don't want it to do that, I want it to run full time.

I haven't read this whole thread, but if you don't want your cpu to downclock, you need to disable cool and quiet for amd. For intel you need to disable speedstep.

Does anyone here with an AMD 6 core have anything to say about the actual performance of the CPU in comparison to other high end CPU's or previous CPU's of the 4 core nature? i.e i have a AMD 955 at the moment, how does it stack up?

nodifference

Nothing amazing, if you need extra cores it will help over a 955, if not, pointless... (google more and I am sure you will find more and better comparisons)

High end (~$300 not 1k) intels will be equal or beat the 6 core @ 4 cores.

Really no reason to change from a 955 unless you need more cores, and about that only reason would be encoding.

Yes, it will beat it, at 3-4 times the cost
