Re: AMD 6 Core I have it..Took me a bit to understand how to overclock it to 4.0ghz but I got it.
That of course is NOT using the stock cooler, but a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ with these 2 fans as a push and pull setup »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···35705040
Really good CPU for the money, and runs the latest games fine.
If you are looking to buy, get the black edition..so easy to overclock and its faster. |

Sweet overclock, I'm too pansy to even try 4.0 despite having watercooling on my 1055t. -- Assuming Direct Control. |

What are you using to water cool? I was thinking about the Corsair H50 as it's simple, and from what I hear it's a really good product. |

OctaveanPremium,MVM join:2001-03-31 New York, NY kudos:1 | reply to Dread The reviews that I have read suggest that a 4GHz or quasi 4GHz OC is not extraordinary even with middling cooling solutions. Thats for the unlocked 1090T though which should be easier to deal with then the locked 1055T. The Core i7 family can also typically hit 4GHz or very close to it without issue so many modern chips can do this. Going appreciably beyond this point would be less common although its best not to expect any guarantees.
Still ~4GHz is a reasonable expectation or goal. |

Coolit Eco Alc since the H50 does not come with the brackets for AMD.
Easiest install ever, pic was taken before I added an extra 4870. -- Assuming Direct Control. |

All the reviews I have read on that one, is that the tubes become separated from the water block and spilled liquid all inside the case. I was looking at it from the price point but after reading those reviews, I am afraid. |

But it's not as simple as a regular heatsink type cooler from noctua or thermalright. And it doesn't cool as well as they do either. A good air cooler will run your cpu at lower temps than these closed loop water cooling systems. |

MargolisPremium join:2003-11-24 Saint Louis, MO | reply to Dread said by Dread: 28c here, seems good to me. couple problems, and don't take offense. I can guarantee your cores are not running at 28ºC. A lot of programs are not calibrated properly for this new series of cpu's. And not all programs read the individual core temps either. Instead they read a motherboard sensor that is not accurate for a core temp. Does your program list all 6 of your cores individually? Or do you just get 1 "cpu temp"?
but using this same program you are using now, the temp would be ~25-26ºC if you had a noctua or other high quality air cooler. That water cooler is better than the cheap air coolers, and technically I shouldn't have called it "garbage". As for cooling, it does a fair job, but not as good as good air cooling does. For the temps you get, it's not worth it. Especially considering the cost and the problem of the enclosed pump. If your pump ever goes out, your screwed with that closed system. At least with a real water cooling setup you can just run to your local pet store if your pump dies, this one you are screwed. |
