I have just installed a new Zoom 5341 DOCSIS 3 modem,as a replacement for a old faulty Motorola modem at my sisters house. The speeds are the same as I get with my SB6120 and the modem pages have more information on them and also show the config file name (highlighted in pic). Password modem page not shown.

I missed this when I looked at your post previously, even though you mentioned it and highlighted it.

I really like that the modem parameters pages show the CM configuration file name under System Info. The ability to know the provisioned rate was one of the deciding factors for me when I purchased my Linksys BEFCMU10 ver 4 which is still performing flawlessly. Mine is not a DOCSIS 3 modem, but I would want a modem that allows me to see that if I ever do decide to move to D3.

I hope you'll let us know what you think of your modem after you've used it for awhile.

Yeah, it does look interesting. I think you should get one and let me know how it is before I get one.

Looking at the Zoom vs Motorola:

Zoom 5341
Data Transfer Rate
172 Mbps Downstream
143 Mbps Upstream

Motorola SB6120
Data Transfer Rate
222.46 Mbps Maximum Downstream @ 256QAM
131.07 Mbps Maximum Upstream @ 128QPSK

So 192.168.100.1 is the default IP address of the Ethernet interface of the cable modem?

Yes that is the address you enter in your browser, to enter the config pages on the Zoom 5341 and most other modems also.

That downstream number is for EuroDOCSIS only.
For DOCSIS the downstream is the same as the Zoom.

Something tells me it's a long way off before we start seeing over 100 Mbps upload anyway...

That is something that we won't see before we get 4 bonded upstream channels at the earliest.

This is not something that is modem dependant..
