Problems with DSL

I have been having problems with my DSL every time it rains, it starts getting spotty then goes out then comes back spotty then full. I was looking at my Diagnostic logs today and here is what I found. I know my margin is bad and my line attenuation is real bad but centrylink doesn't seem to care.
I also looked at the log and I don't understand what its telling me can someone explain the log entry's for today. Unknown host? This is about 1/4 of them.

"Disconnecting session(0): centurytel due to dsl Restart"

You're losing sync. With 55.5 dB attenuation it's not going to take much to knock the line down. Does your phone line get noisy at the same time? Probably rain getting into a connection outside somewhere...

Those "unknown hosts" are DNS lookup failures. Something on your network is asking DNS what the IP addresses are and it can't find it. The modem/router acts as a DNS relay and is logging the lookup failures.

"erectuswalksamongstus.com" is a bogus domain that something in your network is looking up.

Thank you for that explanation, I recognize some of the names as things on my network that I have never tried to contact but others I have no Idea.
I saw today before noon I was up/down several times and your right every time it rains I go down.
They were supposed to have fixed an open box yesterday but my attenuation is the same. I have complained almost every week (when it rains) and they have never sent a dsl tech out.

How do I get them to fix it. The line was very noisy untill they fixed the open box yesterday and today its quiet but no change on the dsl. A lot of times I ask for a page and it takes several seconds to find it before it downloads.

The attenuation might not change when they fix the box (that is mostly a function of distance to the DSLAM). If your phone is no longer noisy when it rains at least the physical issue has been fixed and you should no longer lose sync.

Time lags while surfing can be caused by slow DNS responses and/or the server for the site you want being busy. They are not necessarily related to a line fault. You can change the DNS servers you use...Google runs public ones at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
