VERY torn between Kane&Lynch2 and Mafia2.....

K&L2: great story. great graphic. very interesting multiplayer.
Mafia2: great story. great graphic. very interesting sandbox.

lookin at trailers on Steam, their graphic is pretty darn good with the whole documentary-style cinematography...
Mafia2, however, have good physics, great polygon counts, but texture looks like Mafia1 from the trailer..... and cinematography is "nothing new" in my book.

yes, thank you, i played Mafia 1. it was a great game.

guess i shouldnt say texture looks the same. its different, of course. its better, oh yes.

but it looks... similar. better, but nothing new. great motions and fx, sure....
but lemme just put it this way: one glance, and i can tell its a video game. a great looking video game.

cinematography... well... its great. it looks like a (cartoon) movie with top-notch storyline (from the trailers anyway). its definitely great if ur comparing it to other video games. (if not the best storytelling)
but would you pay a movie ticket to watch a movie based on the ingame rendering mixed in with cutscenes? (which kinda look like the same details as ingame anyway)

i wouldnt. i'd watch it on TV, sure. heck, maybe even rent the DVD. but it sure doesnt pass as a "summer action-flick blockbuster" for me.

all-in-all, it looks like a much much better Mafia-1. but nothin jaw-dropping.

K&L2, however... if u mix the ingame with cutscenes (with all the documentary-artistic-weird videography styles) and make it as a movie....

...well i still wouldnt pay for it LOL... but if theyr both movies, and i gotta pick one, then ill watch K&L....

its more... "immersive".

(ps: funny i took movie-making as analogy coz there IS a kane&lynch movie coming out that i will NOT watch... coz they cast Jamie Foxx as Lynch......................)

i wouldnt call it a mile away. better, yeah. much better, sure. but my comment is based on PC-gaming as a whole for comparison...

And for saying it brings nothing new to the table..how do you even know that? Have you personally played it? And for the comment on it looking like a "cartoon" made me giggle. Its a freaking video game, what do you expect the game to look like? A movie? Then you go on talking about the cutscenes which you haven't experienced either besides the few shots they have released and comparing it to a movie or something, god only knows what you are talking about ..I think you are taking the whole thing a bit umm serious?

As far as K&L..the first one sucked, and if you are going to compare one of these 2 games to a movie..then you can compare K&L to the movie called "Heat" And I would bet on it that the 2nd game will have bits stolen from other movies to.

But yea, whatever don't buy it, but it.. I personally don't care.

Come on, if you install Mafia 1 again, you'll see that the graphics are outdated now. The textures are extremely blurry by modern standards (low res).

And how can you even judge Mafia 2 with low res youtube videos? It doesn't do it justice.

im not judging... its just my 2c.... and yes the graphics are much better now, but i just dont think its "OH MAI GAWD" so much better. i could be wrong. im just lookin at the trailers.

gawd, so many Mafia-series lovers here lol... and im not even saying i dont like the game....

The only thing that will bring down Mafia 2 is if its a console port or poorly mapped keys.

Which honestly, it MIGHT be a console port..looking at the recommend graphics for it. No other game has such high recommend graphics, that I've seen for this type of game.

I mean..a gtx 285 just for physX work? LoL..that's either due to poor PC system code or Nvidia paying off Mafia 2 developers/publishers for increased sales on Nvidias higher end gpu's.
