Everything is a tradeoff

With Sprint and T-Mobile, you pay significantly less than AT&T or Verizon but their overall coverage isn't as good. I have a Sprint BB for work and don't have any coverage issues unless I'm in BFE. Only Verizon seems to cover BFE.

True, but fortunately Sprint generally gets to roam on Verizon in BFE at no additional charge and that's usually sufficient if one is just passing through or vacationing.

Ummm... No. Sprint's overall coverage beats the hell out of AT&T's. They also have better customer service (which, frankly, isn't hard).
