Re: Good

Sorry, sir but either you are ignorant of the totality of the circumstances in this case, or you don't know what you’re talking about.

The notion that anything less than a 6 month sentence is served in a county jail in every jurisdiction in the US is simply flat out WRONG.

The time varies from state to state and correctional system to correctional system. In Pennsylvania it's anything less than 2 years aggregate sentence. Even then, you can work out a plea bargain in order to stay in the county prison (the county joints usually have better chow).

In Delaware, everyone sentenced to prison time serves their time in a state prison. Why? There are no county jails in Delaware. All correctional facilities in Delaware are run by the state DOC. So, if you get sentenced to 4 months prison in Delaware for, say, a drug charge. You could possibly share your cell with a murderer, a Wilmington street thug, or a guy arrested for kiddie porn.

Since (if you read the story) this bozo was sentenced in FEDERAL court, he will serve his time in a Federal prison. Most likely he will be permitted to self surrender. USMS will send him a letter telling him when and where to report. Since this is a non violent crime, and he has no prior record, most likely he will serve his time in a minimum security prison camp with other non violent, mostly drug offenders.

That said, Federal Prison camp isn't exactly FPMINTA prison, but it's no cake walk either. There are plenty a book on surviving Federal Prison camp.

One might ask how I know all this. It's what I've done for a living the past 13 years (working at various state, county, federal, and local law enforcement agencies) so I assure you that while I won't say this is 100% accurate, it's pretty damn close to it.

He'll serve the 4 months, probably at some prison camp cutting grass and weeding flowerbeds at some Air Force base or something....
