I am using the FIOS router on comcast used to have a Lynsys with DDWRT.
My speeds are just fine.
Also not seeing massive my FIOS got slow posts (some for DSL) so maybe its something in your system

Wiring
Dirty Power
Open Grounds
Noise from other electronics etc.
From your POV it was all fine until Frontier
From Frontiers POV everyone is fine but you.
