Re: [BOINC] What happened?

Okay Ray, I gave that a shot - it was just grayed out. I changed it to "6" for number of CPUs. FWIW, my little CPU meter gadget always shows 100% usage whenever BOINC is running. And task manager shows 6 graphs maxed out.

Did ya save the change and re-start?

I was suspecting Win7 as the culpit, because I had heard some talk of the same problem. That fix had worked on some machines without having to re-install the o/s.

Perhaps win7 is not the culptit after all. Did you install win7 earlier and have all cores working before your new ssd installation?

...otherwise, have you tried a different boinc version?
My mom's vista will not crunch all cores with 6.2.28 or 6.10.58 and I never figured out why. I installed the old version 5.10.45 and bingo, been working ever since.

Yeah, I reverted to the older version of 64-bit BOINC yesterday. I guess I'll have to wait for results.
