1 edit | Access my modem/rounter configuration 192.168.254.254 When I type in the IP address of my router (192.168.254.254) in the browser address line, I get sent to a Bing screen with a list of search results. Why doesn't take me to my router configuration screen? I'm trying to turn off the wireless option. I am connected via an ethernet cable. |

Open a DOS Command Box and type IPCONFIG /ALL then press enter to find the Default Gateway IP and that should be the IP for the Modem/Router that the PC is connected to. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

 | reply to StevenK Check to be sure you're typing in the browser and not the search box. At times for me it types in the search box and gives search results even though I'd clicked to type in the browser's box, and I have to redo making sure I'm typing in the browser. |

 | reply to StevenK Thanks guys. Both responses are good ones. The IP config did reveal that I was entering the correct IP address. I was finally able to get to the configuration screen with the 192.168.254.254 address. I might have to turn off the wireless switch on my laptop so that my connection has to go through the ethernet connection in order to find the destination. My desktop connects right away, but it doesn't have a wireless card so it has to go through the ethernet cable. |
