supposed to be getting 22 mbps down only getting 12 down topI am signed up for the ultra speed. For some reason I am only getting 12mbps down tops. I ran a ping and tracert to see if we can trace the problem.

So what can i do about getting the 22mbps down and I know it is UP TO but still I should be getting at least 20 down. |

What modem do you have ? IF it is d3 capable is it bonding multiple downstream channels ? Have you powercycled it ?What do the signal stats look like ? have you called in to confirm that the correct config file has been pushed to it ?
[Edit]
Didn't see your second post. The downstream power level and the SNR is out of spec and you still may have an issue with the bootfile. Call in. |

what would cause the snr and power level to be out of spec and would this affect the speed?
I know my cable line is drooped down and needs replaced (we had 22" of wet snow in february and 2 wind storms(one in april and one last month). Would this cause the problem, I mean it is still connected (or else I wouldn't have service at all, right). |

would my line problem be causing the signal problem and why is my digital cable and hd channels fine? I have 6 tvs with boxes including 2 standard, 1 dvr and 1 hd and none have problems. Just wondering. |

No one can answer that without being at your house with a meter and a ladder. Yes, it's possible to have borderline signal levels and not notice a problem on your TV. Digital is pretty much all or nothing. You don't get snow like you used to. A nice suckout on the pole or GB could cause your problem. You need to call in for a service call. Should have called in to have the line repaired after the storm . |

So your line still looks like this? » should i call comcast? |

*edit - previous post was for wrong topic.
Direct forums may be able to assist if you have had multiple issues actually involving tech visits before. If phone service was out, it may push the call up closer.
This is going to be a drop related issue. Beach is most likely right about the suckout. |

can't be here til tuesday. I told there all it would take is another bad storm and it will be laying on the ground and they said call back if that happens. What a crappy way of customer service.
I'm ready to call and cancel. My internet is so slow it can't keep up with my typing and it takes 2 minutes to load a page. |

It's Friday. You've had since February to call and have it fixed. So they can't send someone out saturday, most likely don't run service calls sunday, monday is catch up, and tuesday they are there.
Sounds perfectly logical to me. Here, with your service still working you would wait a week this time of year. |

I'm seriouslu considering cancelling my service. This is rediculous I can't even surf the internet anymore. It shoudln't take 1 to 2 minutes to load a page.
Plus it hasn't been like this since february this just happened two weeks ago.
What would happen if i yanked it down myself? |

said by mikedz4:What a crappy way of customer service. I had a situation this past spring where a large truck made a delivery across the street from me, and when they backed out of the driveway, they hit the Comcast cable and badly stretched it. It was so bad that I could NOT get my pickup truck out of my driveway unless I had someone stand in the bed of the truck and use a broom to raise the cable so I could go underneath it. I called Comcast immediately that day . . . and every other day for six weeks before they finally came out and fixed it. Crappy customer service indeed. |

I'm not excactly going to pull it down but what happens if a big truck comes through and it falls or if it get caught on my tractor? |

you may wanna watch posting your mac address on your post then. Too many employees on here with access to tools. Way to easy to add notes to an account. |

this was just replaced two years ago and shouldn't be ready to fall so soon. Seems to me the tech didn't install the drop correctly. House has been here for 35 years and never a problem before the tech replaced the drop 2 years ago and now this? |

removed mac address. But I don't really care. I wouldn't pull it down but I may just tell them what to do with their service if my internet gets any slower. |

FWIW, you have the right config file. |

that's good. I wouldn't be concerned if my internet wasn't slow. I am getting 9mbps down on most comcast test sites but when downloading only get around 600 kbps down. |

Seriously? A storm would be an act of nature. It wasn't installed properly. |

I work with a guy who didn't graduate high school and has been there almost 30 years. I don't think that's it. |

Mike if you msg me your mac from your modem I'll take a look at it for you, however damaging the cable will not get anyone out there sooner because dispatch has locked out most of the the weekend because of maintenance it looks like |
