BF69Premium join:2004-07-28 Camden, TN 1 edit | Oooops too good to be true It's an extension of a program that began in New York City last year and is rolling out nationwide this season. But it's aimed at fans who aren't able to access DirecTV service, which requires a satellite with a clear south-facing view. Customers will need to verify that they aren't able to access DirecTV.
Listen DirecTv I do NOT want your TV service expcept for Sunday Ticket. Now do you want my money or not? Appearantly not.
Here's some math DirecTv
Some money > NO money. |

Send an adjuster(like an insurance adjuster) to your house to evaluate it? -- Bit Torrent is my DVR. |

1 edit | said by BF69:How does that solve anything? Did you not read the requirement? Do you have a DirectTV dish and receiver? No? Congratulations! I guess you can't access DirecTV's signal then. Of if your ethics are flexible: Your property doesn't face a Southerly direction. Or you have a historical properly that doesn't permit dishes installed. Or an anal retentive landlord|HOA|condo association that doesn't permit dishes.
Unless there is a guideline that I can't find that stipulates what exactly "can't access" means, there likely will be little verification done other then a simple verbal question that is easy to say yes or no to. In the past, many people have "moved", otherwise known as lied about, their location for purposes of gaining a particular market's broadcast instead of their actual local station. Little verification was done with that other then ensure that the address existed and wasn't already a subscriber.
Edited to add: Here is the signup page. The page nor the FAQs make any reference to a requirement of legitimately not being able to obtain a signal. |

watice join:2008-11-01 New York, NY | reply to BF69 now when you say "an extension of a program that began in new york city", does that mean if you live in nyc you can get this? what the hell is a "clear south facing view"? I'm guessing they mean if there's a skyscraper in the way, or a tall building facing south, you qualify? |

 | reply to BF69 I have DirecTV and only subscribe to Sunday Ticket. No basic service. Nothing else, although I get shopping channels and Cspan and can order PPV if I want. I also get the NFL channel. That's part of the deal the NFL cut with DirecTV years ago. Sunday Ticket is also considered basic service, so I can add NHL, NBA, and MLB service and get the free previews. |
