»Verizon Direct

FiOS is more reliable than any cable service I've ever used and I'm sure 95% of other subscribers would agree on that.

Also, one set of batteries lasts me about 4-5 months. How often are you pressing those buttons?

I am comparing battery life to that of the remote for Dish Network which has a more powerful IR signal and UHF! Dish has a single 'Search' button that automatically fills in the search field with the program that you are currently watching.

Even though the search function is more versatile on FIOS:
1) it takes at least 3 button presses to get into the search menu;
2) the search field is never pre-filled;
3) if you want more info (like cast) for a program you recorded, you have to go back into the 'search function' provided that program hasn't rolled off the schedule.

Much info is dropped from recorded programs which I find annoying, and there are no links back to the program schedules!

All of the above makes for more key presses and thus more drainage on the batteries.
