Shaw Internet and Video on Demand issuesSo, I never use Video on Demand, but I just changed to Shaw High-Speed Extreme internet on Thursday, and ever since getting it, the cable modem will constantly reset itself, all the lights will turn off, and one by one they will come back on, starting with Power, then Receive, but it will hang on a blinking send for upwards of an hour or more, eventually lighting up, and then online will come on shortly after and it will work again for anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour again.
I do have a router, but it was doing this ALL day Thursday before I got the router for the upstairs computer to use wireless. It was doing it when I had it plugged directly into my computer without any router.
I was just watching TV, which is perfectly fine quality. The cable guy checked the signal strength when he came to drop off the modem, and it was a good signal for the digital box and the modem. I accidently hit the video on demand button my remote, and it came up with an error message. This was when my internet was down.
Now, my internet is back up again... and so is Video on Demand.... I had Shaw about 4 years ago and it was doing this aswell, after working fine for years. I went to Telus, but recently came back to Shaw this Thursday, and the issue is still here. |

Forgot to mention... I currently don't have a phone to call Shaw with, because Telus also cancelled my phone and not just the internet when they were called to cancel the internet only.
I would call with my cell, but I rarely talk on the phone, so I only have 100 minutes a month, so yeah, don't want to wait on hold with so little minutes. |

I'd recommend you try hitting up the Shaw website. They may have a live chat feature for you to use in your area.
It sounds like there may be a problem on the return path, which would knock out VOD and your internet. It has nothing at all to do with your router, so you don't have to worry about that bit. |
