Re: [TWC] Dallas/Ft Worth Metro Vol II -- Time Warner said by chamberc:said by OtherguyTX:Does anybody know what the reason was for the outage on Sunday in the 75063 area. Service was out for about 3 hours. Not every where... no problems in my part of Hackberry, but there were a lot of trucks working on the problem. The only thing I experienced was increased Ping times. Had an outage in Arlington Yesterday for about 5 minutes when the power went out and it took my entire node offline as my internet channels rearranged as I was on 783MHz as the primary downstream channel now it is on 795MHz and the upstream was on 33MHz now it is on 36.5MHz.
So now modem has the channels like this:
downstream: 795MHz 783MHz 789MHz 801MHz 807MHz 813MHz
upstream: 36.5MHz |

 | Has anyone ever had this happen to them?
I used to be a TWC customer. Disconnected my service back in March. I get this lady (apparently she lives behind me across the alley) who comes over to my house and accuses me of stealing her cable service. She claims that a TWC technician went to the pole and told her that it was my house that rerouted her cable service. So im apparently stealing her cable service with the satellite dish I have sitting ontop of my house and says she will file a report with the police.
What should I do about this?
I want to go back for internet service but after an incident like this..im really hesitant. |

 | I had this happen. My neighbor cancelled their TWC and the tech came out and disconnected the line to my house instead of the one to his house. I called and reported an outage, waited for their guy to come out and reconnect mine and disconnect the neighbor. A few months later they were working on the lines and guess what, they disconnected me again. When I asked why they tried to blame my neighbor. That is my guess; the imbecile they sent out to disconnect you , or a guy checking lines went and disconnected her drop line thinking it was yours . When she called to report her cable was out they did not accept responsibility but tried to blame you. So just tell your neighbor that you had yours disconnected and that the imbecile they sent out disconnected hers by mistake and won't own up to it.
Here are a couple notes. If you ever get random channels giving the "this station should be available shortly code S0011 or S0012" this is an indication that a line amplifier / repeater is failing and not passing the handshake verification that you are authorized to view the channel. The channel may come back later, especially if you tune to it during an advertisement. This will continue until you get error S0600 no connectivity which means the amp failed and they have to replace it. Then enough people will complain that they actually send someone out to replace the amp. The problem is complicated by the fact that this may be intermittent in hot weather. The amp displays the problem only in afternoons when the sun is high and so is the temp; but when they send a guy out at 8AM there is nothing wrong. |

S0011 or S0012 is a Bandwith issue in which too many SDV requests are being made at once. |

 | I know Texas is the test market for many services. Has anyone with a Motorola box running Navigator received the guide upgrade? In LA the SA/Cisco markets got it last week while the Moto areas wait. |

We have all Motorola in n. Texas but depending on the unit, you get Capigator or iGuide. Both are equally awful. |

 | Actually, I was referring to the updated "black guide" that Time Warner has been advertising, that supposedly enhances speed and functionality. I know boxes with iGuide will be staying this way. However the M boxes running Navigator should be getting the upgrade eventually. Just wondering if anyone has gotten it yet on a Motorola. |

We still have the light grey Navigator on the 3400m's. |

 | Is the audio out of sync on IDHD (Investigative Discovery) channel 728 for anyone else in Plano/Richardson? The SD version channel 206 is fine. Has been like this for at least the last couple of days.
I've been on the line with TW for about 20 minutes now, and we're still at the "let me get your account, check your signal strength" stage. I seriously doubt it's just me, and I don't know how to get someone at TW to just tune to channel 728 and take a look for themselves...
Great, they just rebooted my rebooted my box, which didn't fix anything, and want me to schedule a technician to come out.
Whatever. I don't even really watch ID. Just thought someone at TW would want to know and check it out. |

 | reply to Vertigo Still Navigator on the 3510-M, too. |

| I noticed a nifty feature on the iGuide boxes yesterday the zoom key on the remote now works on the DCX3200 and DCX3400 boxes running navigator so you can zoom without having to use the motorola settings menu also it looks like the text box that tells you if the screen is in stretch, zoom, wide etc. has some transparency |
|
 | anyone else have their iGuide boxes Pause broken when changing the channel and then pausing? This is only affecting certain channels. |

1 edit | reply to Joe Siegler Are we sure there are no SDV issues? I was out of state all week. I came home yesterday evening to find that my tuning adapter will not initialize. I called the cablecard support line and they suggest swapping it out at a local office.
*update 4:45pm* It's happy now. I didn't touch anything. Happy I don't have to swap anything out and can watch the footie. |
