Not only are they not Dutch, this is old. They were at Defcon a month or so ago.
And if the FAA gets word they are flying a RC aircraft over populated areas, they may have their plane confiscated.

Since when are RC aircraft illegal in the US?

RC aircraft aren't illegal and I never said they were. But there are rules that must be observed. And the FAA can take action when the rules aren't followed.

Rules:

It could be used for penetration testing of wireless networks, for instance. Other than that, the developers aren't clear about what they hope to do with their plane. But as sUASNews puts it, getting the attention of aviation authorities will probably be one of the first outcomes.
And flying over houses isn't within the rules. So while they made a nice little hobby plane with sniffing capabilities, it won't be allowed to fly anywhere NEAR where it could actually be used for that purpose.

So... tell us how the FAA is gonna find out about this... Only way I can think of is if someone tattles on them to the FAA and tells the FAA exactly where to find the plane.

If a RC model airplane was flying over houses in my area, I would certainly call the FAA. If one crashed in to a roof with gasoline fuel onboard, it could start a fire. These RC model planes are supposed to be flown in wide open areas and not over houses.

Would you feel the same way if it were your next door neighbor's kids playing with an RC plane in their backyard and they accidentally allowed it to drift over in to your home's airspace?

EDIT: have you ever flown an RC airplane? they don't hold much fuel unless they've been modified..

I'd go to their parents 1st. But if they blew me off, I would report them.

Some bigger RC planes can hold plenty of fuel to start a fire... I used to fly them. Even the 'trainers' can hold 10oz of fuel if I remember correctly. I know they have planes with 20oz+ tanks.

I will get pulled for "flaming" probably. But speaking as one who dislikes big gov, I find it funny/ironic that you have no prob with going to big gov to report a model plane.

See, there is a problem when people prefer putting the moniker of illegal on things, instead of following a preset set of rules.

Some of these people ask for a totalitarian role of government.

Make it illegal and hope that morons understand the scope of regulation.
So Europe!!!
