bright idea, if used prior to 2001

in the age of hypersensitivity to airplanes going to skyscrapers, anything FLYING would send up a some warning flags to the local populus to at least call the police, who then call the faa or whatever & nab the individuals involved. since this is a multiple violation of law (yes, starting with town ordinances, they ARE laws) .. RC aircraft *MUST* be flying over an OPEN FIELD in an area designated for such activity (by most town, county, city ordinances). the type construction of the older rc craft were where they had GASOLINE which made them flying explosives-- nowadays they could be powered by electric, hydrogen or lots of other fuels. they are much safer, but still a danger to people, & property on the ground.

I think an airplane would be good for a quick recon mission, but if you want to hover... an air-balloon type craft would be much better. Esepcially if you wanted the craft to act as a repeater aimed to repeat the open router's signals to your location via directed signal.

This is all great theory.. and much higher risk than the lower hanging fruit of just utilizting the thousands of hotspots cable & telcos have for the taking once you hack someone's email account (or they graciously 'lend' you an extra email login).
