Re: I Need More Speed! First off. 7.1Mbps isn't even 7.1Mbps is more like 5.5-6.5Mbps on a good day. Next I said 5 user. If you going to read Text and look at small picture, yea 1.5Mbps dsl is great. But in the real world, I watch videos, I d/l games, patch etc. If I am d/ling a patch thats 5gb+ and some one is watching a video, and another one playing an online game, guess what 7.1Mb isn't enough. And is not just this, video game maps, FPS games (low ms is great if it could.). I mean come on, do you really watch 240p video? I rather try to watch 720p, but knowing my internet connection is slow I have to watch it 320p. Doesn't really make much sense when other place have 1Gbps connection, even 100Mbps, and yet you want me to use a single digital connection wisely. Come on, we live in the USA, and FCC is useless when Bush was in office. | |

Like I said, 7.1 isn't that bad for 5 users for email and web surfing, but this is obviously not your case.
And I don't know about yours, but my speed is constantly at 6.5mb, 24/7 (that's what I like about DSL).
Yes, USA is not really that good at the bandwidth on broadband. But, to be fair, Outside of cities, the distance needed to cover in suburb is great, so this added to the cost with fewer choices, and is a big disadvantage to DSL. | |
