If Verizon installed Fios everywhere they would all sing a different tune, they would all be owned. That is why the "Copper" attitude is still around. I was just notified that I can get Uverse "all" fiber, in my area, when I corrected them that Fios is the only actual fiber to the home they were peeing all over themselves to tell me I was wrong. -- BlooMe |

I wouldn't say owned, but everywhere there's a company, they would be forced to compete for customers on price, speed, the whole nine, vs the limited competition we have now. |

So AT&T is finally utilizing the fiber they layed in new neighborhoods? What kind of speeds is it capable of? The same as FIOS I asume.
I actually think they were just BSing you like those ads by Comcast claiming they were all fiber. -- Bit Torrent is my DVR. |

| reply to Chris 313 Price? I don't see VZ competing on price or anything. They raise prices the same as the cable company does. which makes them no better except a different network that is really no different except the medium it uses.
VZ and CV have been battling it out for YEARS and i've never seen where they've competed against them. Hell CV was the first one in the US to offer 10meg internet. What was VZ's? still tops out at 3megs for 99% of their customers. But YEP! that's competing. -- www.twopugsbrand.com Kosher, Vegan, and Organic Certified Dog and Cat treats/foods and other products! www.etsy.com/shop/snakx4u/ Organic, Kosher, Gluten Free, Vegan Human Baked Goods |

en102Canadian, eh? join:2001-01-26 Valencia, CA | reply to heat84 Hell no!. Uverse = xDSL (VDSL2) - total signal good for ~45-100Mbps DOWN, and a few (~5Mbps?) up. That being said, AT&T leaves upto 24Mbps for download and 2Mbps upload (If I'm not mistaken) -- Canada = Hollywood North |

| reply to woody7 You ARE wrong U-verse areas that are having new developments built are getting all fiber (FTTH). Since there aren't as many new homes/apartments as their are old, the majority of U-verse areas are FTTN copper last mile. -- If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you know what you're doing. |
