 | Verizon doesn't like google I go to the appworld on my verizon blackberry and search for "google maps mobile" and do not see the expected result... |
|
 | use the app world online and then have BB send the download link to your phone to bypass the app world on the phone. |

 | reply to hoyleysox AppWorld is RIM's thing, not Verizon's.
Google doesn't put their apps in RIM's AppWorld, there is no reason to. You can download BlackBerry apps directly to the phone.
You just open the browser and go to where the BlackBerry apps are.
For Google apps you go to »m.google.com/ |

| reply to skuv you need to re-read what was said NOBODY never said AppWorld was VZ's thing. I said you can download direct to your phone from AppWorld without using the AppWorld software on the phone.
So instead of going off about how you did; you should learn to read the comments. -- www.twopugsbrand.com Kosher, Vegan, and Organic Certified Dog and Cat treats/foods and other products! www.etsy.com/shop/snakx4u/ Organic, Kosher, Gluten Free, Vegan Human Baked Goods |

Maybe YOU should read the Re: up there? Huh? Where he says, Verizon doesn't like google?
Did you read that? He is blaming VERIZON for RIM not having a Google app on RIM's AppWorld.
So yes, he was clearly calling AppWorld a Verizon thing by saying that "Verizon doesn't like google."
You're the one that should learn to read. |

And that is still NOT Verizon's fault, as the "Verizon doesn't like google" from the original poster lets on. |

On many of the newer Blackberry's, VZW has removed all alternatives other than Bing on the search box in the standard browser. Yes, you can still browse m.google.com, but that is one step less convenient than using the search box. Or just tell them to stuff it, and use Mini-Opera, which is better than the BB browser anyway. |

Screw bing, so much for those net neutrality "rules" that VZ and Google negotiated. |

 | reply to hoyleysox *sigh*
After I read all the comments, I'd certainly buy all the unlocked phone outside of T-Mobile and just have that phone in T-Mobile. I don't care for AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon anymore. Problem solved.
Yes, I'll be paying for less coverage, as I have a T-Mobile WebConnect Rocket for my netbook, so who cares? -- Wirelessly controlling my lights and appliances with Z-Wave, C#, and the Mono Project in Ubuntu Server 10.04! |

 | reply to skuv that is not what he said. so you need to go read. maybe see what he says. he didn't say anything about AppWorld being a VZ product. |

| reply to hoyleysox You must not realize that Net Neutrality does NOT apply to cell phone software right? It's only the actual at home Internet. And there is no such thing as Network Neutrality as their is no problem in the US. -- www.twopugsbrand.com Kosher, Vegan, and Organic Certified Dog and Cat treats/foods and other products! www.etsy.com/shop/snakx4u/ Organic, Kosher, Gluten Free, Vegan Human Baked Goods |
