A well thought out response, with big words....
Though.. I will say this. I do agree that public perception plays a large part (iPhone), though it's the other factors you mentioned that I think will be interesting to watch with the upcoming deployment of LTE networks and each company starting on even footing.
Some would say that because Verizon has a head start (compared to ATT/TMO) for LTE buildout, but I disagree... simply because of their over deployment of FTTH with FIOS has drained a lot of their capital (without the expected return). Not to mention their ongoing list of acquisitions... I get the feeling they will hit a wall financially.
My bet is on Metro PCS...
