 | The games begin What videotron is doing is trying to capture the entire home to it's service. They are already #1 for telephone, #1 in internet, and #1 in the Bell VS. Videotron internet speed wars.
They already re-sell Rogers wireless, but now that chunk of the pie will be soley videotrons. Rogers will come out the biggest loser in Quebec and I expect them to start a price-match just barely better than videotron (not a price-war).
Once they swollow-up Rogers piece of the pie and gain 18% (+/-) of the wireless market, they will be on the Bell Canada customer hunt more agressively.
New wireless entrant, Public Mobile, that operates in Quebec will have to pull it's socks up to compete and market itself more agressively, or be bought out within the next few years.
All this really is with their non-agressive pricing and free calls to other videotron users, is an attack-plan to get people to switch all home services to videotron. They are after the home. |
