| Is there a way? To wipe the bloatware out and install a stock Android OS on VZ Smartphones?
I look at smartphones the same way I look at laptops. Sell me the damn hardware and a data plan, and let me sort out the software!
The only way I was able to get full functionality out of my iPhone 3g was to jailbreak it and install the apps I wanted. If it can be done with a locked-down iPhone, can't it be done with a phone running open source Android? After all, isn't that what open source is all about?
Bob -- Would you ever go over to Czechoslovakia, and marry me daughter for me?" |

 | Yes. It is called rooting the phone. |

You can remove bloatware with root access. You won't be able to install stock Android on all devices. It depends on what the manufacturer does to lock down the device. |
