| I need help with a problem i am havine trying to get DSL Well me and my family have been trying to get DSL to are house for a while now. We live off the main road on are street and we had are phone lines tested and Cincinnati Bell said yes you could get dsl but your modem on your phone pole is wrong and there has to be enough people interested in getting the DSL on your road well we have 12 houses off the road that would like to have DSL. We can get more people if needed but does any one know how many people are needed for them to change the modem over and let us have dsl because i am tired of using Hughes net sense it sucks.
anyone that can help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. |

 | Ask to speak with a manager and ask the manage how much it would cost them to update the "modem" in your area, then offer to meet them halfway on that cost.
If you add up the money you are paying to Hughes every month, then deduct the savings you'd get from the monthly rates of Zoomtown and CB's upgrade costs, I bet you'd come out ahead witin 2 years and be much happier with the service to boot. |

 | reply to Burlingky200 where in Burlington do you live???
Are you in unicorporated Boone county?
What Bell will need to do is to upgrade the slc system in your neighborhood to a any/media combo or to their box which extends dsl to a remote community. More than likely though your sol as they have done a cost analysis for the number of pairs out of your local terminal box and it isn't cost effective to upgrade it. The cost is prohibitive unless they have a certain # of subs or your Jack's buddy. |
