| Dumb PR move. All they had to do is say "We had a design flaw and we'll give all current users a free bumper case to resolve it. We have addressed the issue with our manufacturer and the issue is fixed for future deliveries." (essentially making an iPhone 4.01 version for future deliveries.) Instead they lied and denied the issue existed, then lied again and said it was an algorythm issue with the signal meter. Now they lie again saying 'it's not really that big a problem'. Things were starting to die down and they just made it news again.
This will undoubtably be in the text books on how NOT to handle a PR issue. |
