Re: wimax is just as fast and has better coverage Where do you see the numbers that most people get 7 - 12 mbps? That is significantly higher than the averages I have been seeing. -- A block of cheese is a good day indeed. |

these are with a Sprint overdrive: record setter:

recent Sprint overdrive:

Clear:

This is on an EVO itself:

There are reported problems with mobile speed tests reporting poor results when run on the phone itself, maybe that was your problem? did you have good signal, try different towers? how about tethering or trying a manual HTTP/FTP transfer or something from a location you know has the capacity to max out the connection? etc etc

I'm sure its possible to find some good peak speeds but whats important is the combined average of what people get while being mobile. From what I have seen Sprints estimate is accurate. -- A block of cheese is a good day indeed. |

w0go.O join:2001-08-30 Springfield, OR | My peak speeds were my average speed (10Mbps range) when I had the service, it was consistent. This is pretty much the norm from what I've seen reported in most of the forums (maybe 5-8Mbps range for the EVO itself) I've seen this talked about on, I wager those who see consistently less usually have poor testing methology in place (or a poor connection/some other technical problem/etc), as I've usually noted is the case. -- www.aimless.us - irc.aimless.us channel #fix |
