Re: [connectivity] DSL was bad, new modem has new problems If you're hearing static or noise on the line when the DSL is not working correctly, that needs to be solved. At times I've seen DSL lines maintain sync under large amount of noise on the line but prevent data from being transferred over the line due to the constant noise. The next time you start to have issues and hear noise on the line, call Verizon Voice Repair from your cell phone and have them check your line out with an MLT Test. If the problem still exists by then, they should be able to find it if it's an issue with their wiring.
As for the failure to establish PPPoE after reboot, I've seen that happen on older equipment too (talking about equipment from the days of Wireless B and Westell 2200s/WireSpeed modems.) and normally waiting a few minutes allows it to connect. It's more than likely something with the RADIUS servers on Verizon's end. |
